Janet Lilly

Professor Janet Lilly draws on her extensive professional performance and choreographic career to explore contemporary choreographic practices.  Employing a variety of choreographic approaches from humor to pure dance, Janet celebrates the synthesis of new and old choreographic forms often with surprising results.

Lilly was a principal dancer with the internationally acclaimed Bill T. Jones  and Arnie Zane Dance Company from 1983 to 1991.  She received an M.F.A. with Highest Honors from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1992, where she was a Jacob K. Javits Fellow. Tripura Kashyap

Tripura Kashyap is a choreographer and movement therapist based in Delhi. Currently she teaches, performs and coordinates the Dance education program at Bhoomika Creative Dance Centre. She received a degree in classical dance from Kalakshetra, Chennai. She performed in many of the institute’s dance-dramas and later joined the renowned Chandralekha Dance Company as a troupe member for several years. There she trained in Yoga and Kalaripayyatu apart from undergoing workshops in modern dance. Tripura trained in Dance/movement Therapy at Hancock Center in Wisconsin, U.S.A. Simultaneously she also studied modern dance, returned to India and completed her Masters degree in Psychology. Rajyashree Ramamurthi

Rajyashree Ramamurthi is a freelance performance and visual artist. Her focus mainly lies in creating ritual performance that is often time-based and also site specific work. She also creates performance for theatre spaces. 

 

Rajyashree collaborates regularly with other performance as well as visual artists.Together with Jeremy Radvan, illustrator, and Stuart Smith, sound designer from the Laptop Jams, Rajyashree created Avatar, a structured improvisation in the form of a dialogue between, movement, drawing and sound. Dimitrije Wentner

Dimitrije Wentner danced into this world in Austria some 47 years ago. He has enjoyed extended stays in South America from 1990 to 2000 which have been great influence on his modern contemporary dance style. He also spent a few years in Brazil, Peru and Cuba learning Samba, Afra Peruvian and Salsa respectively. He was introduced to Dancehall\ Ragga movements later with his stay on the Caribbean Islands. He has been trained in 5 rhythms with Claudia Pichl in Austria and has also attended workshops conducted by the founder of the 5 rhythms Gabrielle Roth herself. From 2003 to 2005 he has trained with Yaacov Khan in the Netherlands, England, Switzerland and Belgium, a newly created dance system that combines dance with shamanistic elements.

Bipin Revankar

An engineer and an entrepreneur, Bipin explores his love for the rhythm through a variety of percussion instruments including the Djembe, Tabla, Dhol and Drum Set. His first impression of percussion was through the Indian Classical Tabla. During his stay in the US, he was introduced to the West African instrument - Djembe, which is now his primary instrument. Bipin has learnt the traditional style of playing the Djembe and base drums from African drummers and is working on introducing it to the Indian audience via fusion with Dance, Indian and Western instruments.
